mom friends meet with their babies

Frequently Asked Questions About Our New Moms Groups

Who are these groups for?

Our Moms Groups are for moms and their babies 0-6 months old (unless otherwise noted). We welcome all moms, whether you are a first time mom or a fourth time mom.

What if my baby cries during group?

Babies are going to cry, eat, and poop during group- and that’s OK! We welcome you and your baby to stay in the room, and for you to do whatever you need to do to take care of your baby and yourself. Change your baby, feed your baby, soothe your baby- everyone else will be doing the same!

What kinds of topics might be talked about?

The topics vary week to week, based on what people want to discuss. We might talk about:

  • Labor experiences
  • Postpartum recovery
  • Baby sleep
  • Infant care
  • Motherhood

What kind of group is this?

This is a supportive and social group that is great for:

  • moms who want to meet other moms in their community
  • moms who just need to get out of the house
  • moms who have questions or are looking for resources

What does non-judgemental support look like?

We believe that every mom is doing what is right for themselves, their babies, and their families. We support all the choices you make, and do not think that any one way of doing things is “best”.

When and where do the groups meet?

founder of The Newlymom Elizabeth

I am a Certified Postpartum Doula and a mom of two.

Five years ago I was a brand new mom. I felt isolated at home, and there were only so many times I could go to Target in a day. Finding a new moms group made me less alone, and the support I got at group always gave me the confidence I needed to get through the week. It made a huge difference in my postpartum experience, and the moms I met there are now my closest friends.

Today I am a Certified Postpartum Doula who hosts new moms groups and supports women through their postpartum journeys. It is my passion is to provide new moms with the same support and confidence that my moms groups gave me.
